This 3-inch Flood-Guard is a product made by General Wire that prevents basement flooding. It functions like a check valve, sealing off water back-up caused by overfull sewers. When there is no flooding, the Flood-guard is in an open position. When back-flow is present, the Flood-guard floats up on top of the sewer matter to a closed position so the contents of the sewer do not spill out over the drain. Gaskets are constructed of molded rubber. All of the metal components are plated or stainless steel. Made in the USA. General Wire model number 3F.
